Sarah Tasker
Program Director/Head Coach - All Teams
Sarah is the founder of the Winnipeg Dynamite Cheerleading Club. Her cheerleading career began at the age of 12 at Westdale Junior High, shortly after retiring from a life of competitive gymnastics. She went on to cheer at Oak Park High School for three more years where she helped her team win two consecutive provincial championship titles. During her grade 12 year she coached a young team at Charleswood Junior High where she realized her love for coaching.
She developed the competitive cheerleading program at Linden Meadows School in 2002 where she was the head coach for seven years. She also coached a recreational cheerleading program through the Southdale Recreational Association for three years.
Sarah has been trained and certified in first aid and CPR since 2002 and takes refresher certification courses on a regular basis. With 15 years of involvement in cheerleading, she is among the most experienced and qualified coaches in Manitoba. Sarah is USASF/IASF certified in levels 1 through 4 in all areas. She has completed a variety of courses through the National Coaching Certification Program to further her qualifications and knowledge and is devoted to growing and developing her coaching abilities by taking courses, and attending coaching conferences whenever she can. Sarah is actively involved and committed to the growth of cheerleading in Manitoba. She is currently the Treasurer for the Manitoba Cheer Federation and was recently named MCF’s 2010/2011 Coach of the Year.
Daniella Ponticelli
Assistant Coach - Junior Team
Daniella first started cheerleading in Junior High at Linden Meadows School with several years of dance already behind her. She quickly fell in love with the sport of cheerleading, with much of her enthusiasm due to her coach Sarah Dunn. She competed on the Linden Meadows team for two years in the cheer, pom and stunt divisions. Daniella went on to attend Vincent Massey Collegiate. She took it upon herself to meet with their school principal to discuss to possibility of a developing a cheer team. Before long everyone was on board. She competed on this team throughout all of high school in cheer and stunt.
In the spring of 2006, Daniella joined the newly established Dynamite team as well. She competed for two years in cheer and stunt, which cemented her ongoing love for cheerleading. Daniella was also the head coach for Vincent Massey Collegiate Cheerleading in 2008/2009 and has been coaching the Dynamite Junior team since September of 2008. She is trained in First Aid, and is also certified in levels 1 and 2 through USASF/IASF in all areas.
Daniella is in her third year of post-secondary education, currently at the Red River Community College where she is working towards a degree in Creative Communications. She continues to dance, and teach dance at Monica's Danz Gym. She is part of their Momentum Aerial and Acrobatic Performance Troupe. She traveled to Austria to participate in Gymnaestrada, which was recently held here in Winnipeg. Soon she will travel with the Momentum Troupe to Switzerland to participate once again in Gymnaestrada.
Lauren Lytle
Assistant Coach - Tiny, Mini and Youth Teams
Lauren is a student at Oak Park High School. She joined the Senior Dynamite team in 2008. Trained in CPR, Lauren is currently enrolled in her Bronze Medallion Life Saving Program. She has enjoyed volunteering for the Westdale Community Centre working with the Summer Day Camp for kids, ages 6 to 12. We are excited to have Lauren join our coaching team for 2010/2011.
Tiffany Leschyshyn
Assistant Coach – Junior Team
Tiffany is a new assistant coach of ours and has contributed 12 years to competitive cheerleading. She first started out as a cheerleader for George Waters Middle School, where her love for cheerleading blossomed into a career. Throughout four years of high school she competed for St. James Collegiate in the Cheer, Stunt and Pom categories. In 2008 Tiffany began assistant coaching at Tec Voc High school. She wanted to broaden her coaching experience the following year and moved on to coach a junior team at Linden Meadows School. This team reminded her why she wanted to start coaching. As Linden Meadows showed her the dedication and willingness to learn, her love for coaching was born. Tiffany is CPR and first aid certified soon to be USASF certified.
